XII dell’Apocalisse, opera dell’artista calabrese Nik Spatari (1984).

Church of Calvary
The small Church of Calvary in Radicena was built around 1850.
Its official opening was celebrated on June 17, 1893, with a solemn liturgy, and the church was dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Sorrows, promoting her devotion and cult.
In August 1920, the Capuchin friars formally took possession of the site.
On September 5, 1945, the explosion of an ammunition depot located near the complex destroyed both the small church and the older part of the hermitage.
Reconstruction began on December 8, 1950, following a design by architect Nino Barillari, and the laying of the first stone was blessed on that day.
In the early 1970s, the sacred building was expanded, and in the early 1990s, the convent structures were enlarged and renovated.
Inside the church, alongside the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows, the faithful venerate Saint Anthony – a devotion deeply rooted in the local community and celebrated on June 13 – as well as Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Clare, Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, Saint Rita, the Immaculate Virgin, and Saint Elizabeth of Hungary.
On the central wall of the apse, a large fresco with vivid and intense chromatic tones depicts scenes from Chapter XII of the Book of Revelation.
The artwork, completed in 1984, is by the Calabrian artist Nik Spatari.
